Why Do I Need the Travel Delay Benefit?

Trip delay coverage can be an important part of your travel insurance plan because it can help reimburse you for additional accommodation expenses that result from a delay. For example, if your flight is delayed and you need to pay for a hotel room or other expenses like meals as a result, trip delay coverage can help cover those costs.

And, don’t forget:

  • Delays are common. Flights often get delayed for various reasons that have nothing to do with you, including bad weather, mechanical issues, and air traffic control problems.
  • Delays can be costly. If you're delayed for a while, costs can add up quickly. Trip delay coverage can help with things like paying for meals, transport from the airport to a hotel, and the hotel booking itself.
  • Delays can ruin your trip. They can create logistical nightmares that can have knock-on effects on the rest of your trip. Trip delay coverage can help reimburse you for any prepaid, non-refundable accommodation expenses caused by a delay.

Trip delay coverage can provide peace of mind and financial protection if your trip is delayed. It can’t make things right or speed things up, but at least you know you know financial reimbursement for covered events are on its way.
